Paros villages

Villages in Paros island, Greece

LEFKES VILLAGE

The village that impressed us most was Lefkes. Although we passed by very early in the morning and everybody was asleep, we took some time to see the village and photograph it. Lefkes village is amphitheatrically built, overlooking the fertile valley of the central Paros mountains. Once you get there, you forget that you are on an island but most likely somewhere in the central mountainous Greece.

By asphalt road of very good condition

Eating out :
There are many taverns in Lefkes, some of which have an excellent view of the valley.

TRIPITI – GLYFA

These two side by side beaches are found in the south part of Paros island. Driving all the way south via the asphalt coastal road you will see the two signs that point out the beaches. From that point onwards, the road is sandy, but easy to cross by car or motorbike.

In Tripiti beach, towards the back, the electricity company has installed a small station, which you might find a bit annoying site.

However, you will love Glyfa. The beach is quite “isolated” since there are only 4 or 5 houses built in the nearby area, some of which are made of local stone.

KOLYBITHRES

A small sandy beach of unique beauty, due to the shape of the nearby rocks. Perhaps the most impressive beach of Paros island, which almost every tourist has to see. There is only one tavern in the area, and the water is shallow and calm for the first meters, which makes the beach quite safe for children.

PARIKIA

Many comments can be made about the picturesque Parikia that gathers mostly young people, due to the innumerous bars and clubs for all tastes. But that’s not all. Parikia also has a wide selection of international cuisine restaurants (Indian, Chinese, …) and of course the excellent local cuisine taverns and ouzeries.

Take a walk in the lovely alleys of the town, filled with small gift shops and lovely cafes.
